Florida Digital Infrastructure and Security Alliance Launches to Help Shape Florida's Digital Future

The Florida Digital Infrastructure and Security Alliance (FDISA) today announced its launch as Florida's first statewide, nonpartisan coalition dedicated to advancing secure, sustainable and thoughtfully planned digital infrastructure.

As reliance on digital infrastructure continues to grow, FDISA will serve as a trusted resource for policymakers, local governments and communities evaluating data center proposals. Data centers support the essential services people rely on every day, including healthcare, financial services, emergency communications, education, businesses and the digital platforms that power modern life. They are also a vital part of America's national and cybersecurity infrastructure, helping ensure critical data remains secure and housed in the United States.

This alliance was formed as communities across Florida began weighing data center proposals and related policies and seeking answers to important questions about growth, infrastructure, environmental stewardship and long-term impacts. FDISA was created to help local leaders navigate those decisions with credible information, technical expertise and practical guidance while ensuring growth reflects local priorities and community values.

"Communities deserve clear information and thoughtful planning as they consider projects that will shape their future," said Tim Center, chair of FDISA's board of directors. "Florida has an opportunity to lead the nation's digital economy, and local leaders should have access to the expertise and research they need to make informed decisions that reflect their communities' priorities."

Florida's Senate Bill 484, which went into effect July 1, established a statewide framework for data center siting and oversight. FDISA will work with policymakers, local governments and community stakeholders by sharing research, best practices and technical expertise that support informed decision making. The Alliance will also provide educational resources and create opportunities for dialogue among local governments, industry experts and community stakeholders as Florida plans for continued digital growth.

FDISA's founding coalition includes companies and experts representing the technology, energy, water, national security, cybersecurity and infrastructure sectors. Together, they are committed to promoting well-planned data center development through collaboration, education and evidence-based policy discussions.
